" Elle n'est pas de notre culture", I heard them say to him. I did not belong to his culture.
The night before our last, he had given me a ring. He had told me that he would wait until humanity and life would allow us to marry, then he would come back to Samoa and sweep me of to the Eiffel tower. He had left a letter in French for me, knowing that we had to say goodbye one day. He left me with a ring and a letter to comfort my heart.
He had told me to hold on. He had told me to br brave and strong.
I couldn't hold onto the cliff forever.
To my beautiful Säulena,
To La vie ne va pas m'arrêter. Je vais grimper sur les montagnes de la discrimination et tirez à travers la jungle de la non-acceptation de vous avoir dans mes bras. Vous et moi irons combattre l'armée. Toi et moi va gagner.
( Life will not stop. Not stop me. Life does not stop. I'll climb the mountains of discrimination and pull through the jungle of non-acceptance to have you in my arms. You and me will fight the army. You and I will win. )
