Killer Heart - Mel Afoa
He's got a killer heart, killer heart,Spikes and thorns radiating through,
not red as Snow White's poison apple,
but black as the dark sky in a broken heart.
He's the reason for a battlefield,
delaying the flag of hope and surrender from being raised,
sending hearts out into the open fields to get pierced,
the only armour worn by no one but himself.
He's the reason for your heartbreak,
the shattered pieces scattered across the floor,
stupidly buying cheap glue and sticking the pieces back together,
ignoring the sounds of each piece scattering back onto the floor.
He's the reason for your cries at night,
mountains of tissues piling on the foot of your bed,
snuggly teddybears and chocolate icecream surrounding you,
and a phone next to you with no calls, no texts and no him.
He's the reason for your jealousy,
stirring sadly inside without any chance of release,
looking for a signal from the girl across the street,
ignorant of the silent girl standing heartbroken next to him; you.
