One bullet, Two Hearts - Mel Afoa

She knows she is a player,
a player in a love triangle.
She is the other girl,
the girl he is having an affair with,
while his love sits at home, oblivious.
She knows it is wrong,
but he knows what she likes,
the kind of passion she's in to.
She feels guilty as a murderer,
but she can't help the excitement.
She knows Karma will come soon,
but she's ignoring the signs.
He tells her he loves her one day,
and she asks him to move in.
He declines, saying his girl will kill him,
and she can't help but feel angry.
After two years, he marries his girlfriend,
and keeps her as his lust mistress.
She knows she has crossed the line,
but when he sends her roses, she ignores her heart.
After two years, she is still in his love triangle,
sneaking every week to meet him,
and enjoy a private session in his bed.
She asks him if he can divorce his wife,
and he ignores her question and sleeps.
She sits there silently, waiting for him.
Shes waiting at the cafe shop,
waiting for him to pick her up.
He does a no show, leaving her to walk in the rain.
Three years later, she is still with him,
the secret affair still in the air.
He uses her for sex, for money,
and she uses him for fake love.
She asks him what stage they are on,
if he is to be serious with her,
he shrugs and blows her a kiss,
before going to pick up his two kids.
The rain is pouring outside,
while she lies on his chest.
She looks at his face, closely,
and wonders why she's never seen him before.
He calls her to arrange the next meeting up,
and she listens silently as he moans for her.
She knows Karma is near her doorstep,
if she goes to him. Yet she does.
She walks to the refridgerator for a drink,
nothing but a bath towel on.
She sees the love bites on her arms,
love bites symbolising desperation.
She wants to feel loved, to feel adored,
and he fails to do that for her.
She knows she deserves better,
and she deserves to be punished,
But she can't help thinking he does as well.
She arranges another meeting for him,
but this time when he leaves, she sneaks,
entering his empty house.
She knows the family is gone to a friend's,
something she's never had.
She places her letter on his wife's drawer,
and puts the evidence up for display.
She decides to reveal the truth,
reveal the monster she is inside.
She spies the family car drive into the garage,
the kids bouncing out, mum locking the car,
the three walking into the silent house,
She leaves when she see's the wifes shadow in the bedroom.
She sees him walking around, eyes puffy,
tie misplaced, clothes ruffled,
and she knows her job is done.
She knows karma has finally arrived,
and will grab her sooner than later,
she had managed to shoot love,
and with a single bullet,
shot two hearts, hers and his.
