School's most important lesson - Mel Afoa
its to not make friends with the wrong sort.
The main lesson there, the main lesson learnt.
School is full of them, everywhere in the school grounds,
strutting like their on the catwalk, noses in the air,
handing out 'wrong friendships' to anyone who walks by.
School ain't for education, ain't for learning the ways of life,
it's just for showing the real truth behind every friendship,
and every friendship has lies that can ruin hearts, ruin life.
Caring teachers show you how to defend them, defend thy honour,
they toughen you up, get you in your knights armour for the battlefield,
so when they come, your ready to fight and make sure you dont lose.
Its funny, how many people actually believe school is the safest place in the world,
but if it was so safe, depression and anger would've been trying to climb the school walls,
if it was safe, school wouldnt have opened its arms to those species.
Its good though, learning not to make friends with the wrong sort.
You actually have work experience, by befriending those people,
and when you get heartbroken and angered, the school knows you've learnt your lesson.
If school teaches you one extra lesson,
its to not be afraid of jealousy. Its what sucks those people in, what makes them like that,
and you might not have your friends by your side, but remember the teachers, your mentors,
they've been there, done that, graduated from school, learnt their lessons. Definitions of true allies.
