If not Me, then No one - Mel Afoa
The knife is plunged deep within her chest, blood pooling out and surrounding her limp form. She is crying mutely for help, looking at the window, into the sky, crying to the Lord for help. Her hand reaches out, shaking slowly, and before it reaches halfway, falls hard onto the cement.
He watches her, the tears pouring down and joining his own pool of blood. He is lying next to her, ready to join Death with her, ready to greet him with his love. He has a sharp knife plunged into his abdomen, blood covering his clothes, blood covering his body. He smiles as he sees her still form. He knows it'll be too late for someone to rescue and save her from Death. He looks out the window as well. He sees a sky, a sky of happiness and love. He sees the blue colour hugging the fluffed up clouds. Blue with White. He could see a small tree next to the window, its vibrant colours burning his eyes. Evergeen leaves stood still on the brown branches, chirpping Lorakeets jumping around. He was beginning to fall into blackness. Death was coming on his doorstep to pick him up. He was ready. He laughed slowly, its sound lost as the little birds tweeted loudly for their mother to give them back their food.

"We can't be together", she said, eyes puffed from the countless tears escaping. He only stared, too struck to move. He had thought she loved him. He had thought she was the one for him. He couldn't care less for her parents. He couldn't care less for anyone except her. She was The One, and he would do anything to have her forever.
"Who cares if they don't like me? Your parents don't like anyone anyway", he replied, his voice shaky. He had taken her to a secluded area in a house in the middle of the park out of town, the sanctuary they ofen escaped to. Purple and red roses grew in the front garden, and apple green covered most of the land. The brick house was lonely, with nature as it's only companion.
"No, it's not them", she mumbled slowly, tears threatening to fall. She sat on the wooden chair at the back of the living room.
"Then what?"
"I...fell..."
"what do you mean?"
"I fell..I fell...out..of love", she said.
His heart broke. His mind was speeding at one hundred kilometres an hour. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't see. He could only watch as she came closer, touched his face, kissed his cheek, and move towards the back door.
He could not let her. He could not let her go . If he couldn't have her, no one could. He would sacrifice the world for her. He knew she loved him. It was her parents that told her to say this. And they would pay. He would love her no matter. Here, in life, and in Death. Better somewhere where no one could refuse their love.
He moved forward, grabbing the convenient knife nearby.
