Three - Mel Afoa

Three is her worst number.

Three times she's had to suffer heartbreak.
Three times she's had to go to her son's basketball games alone.
Three times she's stayed up till 4am to wait for him to come home.

Three kids she has to get ready for school, by herself.
Three kids she has look after every weekend while he's away on business.
Three kids she has to answer when they ask her where Dad is.

Three numbers she finds on his phone that send him more than 10 texts a day.
Three numbers she ponders over when he talks to them regularly, more than her.
Three numbers she is told she is banned from calling.

Three arguments she's had over him coming home late.
Three arguments shes had with him that ended with her unconscious.
Three arguments shes had with him, that she packed and walked out with the kids.

Three calls she's had to make to the police about his physical abuse.
Three calls she's had to make to her siblings to help her.
Three calls she's had to make to the nearest motel so her and the kids could stay the night.

Three beds she's had to buy for her kids.
Three beds she's been in their different houses, sleeping lonely when he goes out.
Three beds she knows he sleeps in, hers, and his two mistresses.

Three signatures she needs her lawyers to do on certain documents.
Three signatures she leaves for her bank accounts to be seperated from his.
Three signatures she makes as she signs the divorce papers.
