Depression had told her so.

Defined by dictionaries
as a feeling of great fondness
or enthusiam for a person or thing.
According to this certain definition,
love is supposedly a good thing.
Love is also defined, by Depression,
as a feeling to can destroy you,
a hole that you cannot climb out of,
a desert you cannot escape from,
a bullet that you could not stop from being fired.

Depression had come to your doorstep,
warning about the foolish mistake you adventured on,
to develop fondness over a guy
who could not, would not,
fall into that deadly hole,
travel through that baleful desert,
or jump in front of that bullet.
It had warned you as the sky outside,
blazed reddy hue, streaked amethyst,
the rain quietly falling behind its cloaky figure.
Yet you lifted your head high, heart proud,
beating like a snare drum played in fast forward,
mind overpowered by the thought of affection.

After an endless game and snakes and ladders,
friends and family as the legless reptile,
attempting to break your enchantment of his love,
and his mysterious signs of strange affections
as the signs of encourage, the wooden ladders,
You reached the top.

To be comfronted with the pain of rejection,
which many dictionaries will define that other feeling,
as the refusal to accept something or someone.
After his endless games of love chasing,

in its path of corruption and evil.

spell-binding feeling of a broken heart will know,
Depression knows best.
