Forbidden Desires - Mel Afoa

"Are you sure you know where your going?", I asked him asked we weaved our way through the thick weeds in the forest.
"Trust me, I know where we are going", he replied, tugging my small hand and leading the way towards wherever possible. I rolled my eyes, the small beads of sweat silently rolling down towards my cheeks. The sun was a killer, it's bright powerful sun rays forcing me to feel its power draining my strength.
"Well, i find that hard to do. I remember passing this leaf", i muttered under my breath, looking at a deformed leaf with big holes in the middle. Though the wind blew, it was a gentle blow, its soft breath fluttering the smallest of leaves. It hardly lifted the dead leaves on the earthy ground. I looked around. Nothing but nature. The forest held green vine trees, all united together, vines twisting and touching one another. There was a few birds perched in the top part of the tree, chirpping away while hunting for the grubby worms that wiggled beneath our feet underground.
"Your faith in me is ever so kind", he smiled sarcastically, tugging my hand with pressure since i started slowing his pace. " We want to get there by today. Would you fancy having the picnic when your 80?", he laughed, his deep yet soft voice radiating and tiggling my body.
He was a keeper. I knew that when i first laid eyes on him.
James was not your ordinary guy in society. He was different, but similar at the same time. He had his own unique style and an air of authority though he hardly ever used it. James stood to be a tall, muscular yet lanky seventeen year old teen with blonde hair and blue eyes. Originally from England, he relocated to Australia with his mum after his parents divorce. Popular, artistic and sporty, he was a well-known museum-expedition attender, with his love of art and poetry as life ambitions.
" Tishka, seriously, I don't want to grow old in this jungle. You love sports, so come on, jog, run, hop, just hurry up!", he laughed, as I paused, out of breath, even though the forest walk was easy and subtle. I ignored him, grabbing a hair tie from my pocket and tying my long, golden-brown curls up.
" Wanna carry me? I'm sure weightlifting is part of your sport training agendas, and since I have a small body, i doubt I'd me much a hassle to you", I replied cheekily, my green eyes capturing his blue irises. Smirking slightly he suddenly weaved his arms around my waist and boosted me up, leaving me to cry in suprise. Slowly, he twisted my body and used his skills to turn me slightly so i was perched onto his back.
" Happy?", he grinned, turning to look at my smile. I could only wink and say, 'Forward, servant!".
With 56kg on his shoulders, James managed to somehow move me up the small hill and plunge through the evergrowing weeds surrounding the area. Flowers of all kind grew within their factions, and the smell of each flower blended together to form the scent of the forest. Trees of all sizes surrounded us, the sun piercing down upon us. I smiled as i looked at the small, bubbly clouds above, forming into different shapes.
After the three-minute ride, guilt began to overide me, so i forcefully stopped him and hopped off. He sighed softly as the extra weight was lifted from his aching back.
"Finally began to feel sorry for me?", he asked, softly enclosing his hand onto mine. I swung it gently, the feeling of nature covering my thoughts with scenes of its picturesque beauty.
"Its beautiful", I said, looking around at the forest, butterflies hovering over the bushes on my right. James only nodded in agreement.
"We are nearly there", he said softly, his other hand ruffling his blonde spikes. With a last glance behind, he hopped onto a big rock and helped me, then proceeded to a small, secluded area on the grass.
There was a small picnic blanket on the green grass, ontop was a wooden picnic basket with flowers strewn across. I stood in suprise as I saw the picnic basket, with chocolate and lollies on plates on top of the blanket. A certain drink was on display, two glasses surrounding its bottled content.
I could only gaze at James with a mixture of love and contentment.
"Happy 1 year Anniversary to us, Tishka", he said smiling, and wrapped his arms around my waist. I could only turn in his embrace, as the tears rolled down one by one onto his white single. He smelled like lavender from the forest, with the mixed scent of mint. I could only mumble, " I love you in reply". He gazed at me softly, and using his blue irises, held my gaze before slowly kisssing away my tears.
"I love you", he replied, and gently pressed his lips towards mine.
We picnicked underneath the sun, underneath the forest trees, underneath love.
